On June 20 and June 22, 2023, the Straus Center hosted its annual summer seminars for high school students, Jewish and Western Texts in Conversation.

On June 16th, 2023, fellows of the Ruderman Program for American Jewish Studies at the University of Haifa joined the Straus Center for a lecture on the history of Modern Orthodoxy and ¶¶Òõapp University’s role as America’s premier institution for Jewish education.

Straus Center Director Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik’s new book, Providence and Power: Ten Portraits in Jewish Statesmanship, explores models of Jewish leadership throughout history.

In Spring 2023, Rabbi Shalom Carmy, Professor of Jewish Philosophy and Bible at ¶¶Òõapp University and renowned scholar of Jewish thought, taught a Straus Center course on the philosophy of Rav Abraham Isaac Kook.
