Common Application Requirements
Personal Statement
Your personal statement is a chance for us to learn more about you both as a person and a student. We encourage you to use this opportunity to tell us about a personal, professional or volunteer experience that inspires you or to talk about your area of focus for graduate study. Be sure to check your program of interest for any word or page limits, and ask a friend, colleague, or family member to give it a quick review for grammar and syntax errors.
Transcripts/Evaluations
You’ll need to submit transcripts from all colleges and universities where you have completed 9 or more credits. If you attended a university outside of the U.S. or English-speaking Canada, you will need to submit a course-by-course which will show your coursework cumulative GPA on a 4.0 based scale as well as your degree equivalency based on U.S. standards.
While you may submit unofficial transcripts (for U.S. and English-speaking Canadian schools only) for review of your application, you will be required to submit official transcripts prior to the first day of classes. This includes submitting final official degree conferred transcripts from anywhere you earned a degree (associate's, bachelor's, master's, etc.). Official transcripts must be sent directly from the institution(s) where you have studied either directly by mail in a sealed envelope or securely via email. Please refer to your admission letter for more in-depth details.
For individuals who have a NACES evaluation (if your degree was completed outside of the U.S. or English-speaking Canada), the official document must come directly from the agnecy either by mail or email. Please refer to your admission letter for more in-depth details.
CV/Resume
Most programs require a CV or resume that outlines both your academic and professional experience. In particular, you should highlight any experience related to your area of study, including any research or academic publications.
Recommendation Letters or References
Recommendation letters provide us with a valuable perspective on your background and experience. It’s best to choose someone who knows you in an academic setting (a professor) or a professional setting (a supervisor), and can speak to your skill sets. We recommend reaching out to any references with plenty of advanced notice so your letter(s) will be submitted on time. Make sure that your recommender has a clear understanding of your goals and why you are applying.
Additional Application Requirements
Standardized Test Scores
A few of our graduate programs require GRE or GMAT scores. In some cases, these scores are recommended but not required. We encourage you to review the specific requirements for your program(s) of interest.
If you received your degree in a country where the primary language of instruction was not English, you will need to submit TOEFL/IELTS scores taken within the last two years (minimum scores of 100/7, respectively).

Prerequisite Courses and Requirements
Several of our graduate programs require prerequisite courses in order to matriculate. If you did not complete the coursework during your undergraduate degree, you may be able to enroll in supplemental courses prior to the start of the academic year. We encourage you to review the specific requirements for your program(s) of interest.
The Occupational Therapy program and Speech-Language Pathology programs also require a set number of observation or volunteer hours. Please refer to these program pages for additional details.
Interview
If you’re applying for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate or PA programs, you may be asked to complete a qualitative admissions interview after submitting your application. These interviews provide an additional opportunity to learn about your prior experience and areas of interest for further study.
Deadlines and Decisions
We offer multiple application deadlines over the course of the year. Some programs offer start dates in the fall, spring, and summer, while others are limited to fall enrollment. For the best access to merit-based scholarships, we encourage you to view information on each graduate school's webpage and apply early.
