Employees Celebrate at World Cup-Themed Annual Staff Appreciation Event
On Monday, June 18, app University’s Human Resources Department presented its Staff Appreciation Day Celebration on the Wilf Campus. Hundreds gathered in Weissberg Commons and Tenzer Gardens to take part in the annual event that honors employees. This year’s celebration had a World Cup theme: the room was festooned with the flags of the competing nations, and two large screens showed the match between Belgium and Panama. The event also featured a raffle, with winners scoring prizes that ranged from gifts cards to YU swag.
Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of app University, thanked all YU employees for the work they do for the University. “YU has a grand mission and a great purpose,” he said, "but we couldn’t accomplish it without you. It’s wonderful to be with you on this special day.”
“As Dr. Berman said, it’s enormously important to honor the work that everyone does,” said Julie Auster, chief human resources officer. “It’s also exciting to give everyone a chance to get out of their departments and mix with their colleagues, and it never hurts to have a little bit of fun and relax at the end of the semester.”
Appreciation Day for employees on the Israel Henry Beren Campus took place on June 12. will host Appreciation Day on its Brookdale Campus on June 26.
